Cenovus Energy’s West White Rose project has reached a pivotal moment with the arrival of its 23,000-tonne topsides deck in Newfoundland. Transported over 5,500 kilometers from Texas, the massive structure will be installed on a 210,000-tonne concrete gravity base at the Grand Banks offshore site.

This major offshore engineering feat is part of a larger development that targets approximately 115 million barrels of oil. Once operational, the project is expected to produce up to 80,000 barrels per day at peak capacity, with first oil anticipated in 2026.
The deck—containing the essential infrastructure for production, processing, and operations—will significantly expand the capacity of the White Rose field, supporting continued energy security and economic activity in Eastern Canada. It’s also a testament to the scale and complexity of modern offshore oil projects, demanding high levels of technical precision, logistics coordination, and cross-border collaboration.
At Aries One, we recognize the importance of strategic planning and expert execution in projects of this magnitude. Whether it’s through technical advisory, project management, or staffing support, we help energy operators navigate key phases from development to production.
